Don Tennant

Don Tennant has been dancing, calling and teaching square dancing since 1958. His first class graduated in April, 1959 in Bairoil,
Wyoming. He has graduated at least one class each year ever since.
He moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1961, started the first singles club in Colorado in 1962, and was club caller for 13 years. He was also club caller for 3 clubs in Boulder and Longmont until moving to Missouri in 1983. He called for the Red Rock Ramblers in
Colorado for 20 years and called at all of the Colorado State Festivals being featured caller at one, Program Chairman at four, set up sound for many, MC'd several, and assisted with other committees every year.
He was director of Colorado Summer Recreation for ten years at the University of Colorado and has been featured caller at festivals in California, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and Nebraska. Don has also called at the Hawaiian State Festival for two years.
He and Vi moved to Missouri in 1983. Don has been club caller for Travelers, Ozark Ramblers, Pommenaders, Spinnin' Heels, Coordinators, T-Squares, Aurora Grand Squares, and Branson Shooting Stars. He has taught lessons at several clubs and has had 2 round dance clubs. He has called at all the Missouri State Festivals since 1984, worked on the sound committee, called at all of the Central and Southwest District Dances. He still calls four or five nights a week in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Arkansas. He also does one-night stands for tour groups that come to Branson at churches and schools.
Don was Master of Ceremonies for the 39th annual Missouri Festival. Don works hard to promote the square dance activity in every positive way possible.
