Southwest District 2022 Ambassador of the Year recipient Shirley Winans was honored at the S.W. District dance in May. Shirley is very active in her own club, Western Twirlers. She works tirelessly planning and organizing their club lessons and assures that all runs smoothly. A club member stated their club depends on her a lot!

Shirley supports other District club dances, carrying in her car fold-up tables to distribute flyers she created to announce upcoming local, district and state dances, which she also attends.

Beginning in 2017 through 2019 Shirley was an active member of the Planning Committee for the 2019 State Festival held in Springfield, Missouri In 2018 and 2019 she was one of a small group of dancers traveling together more than 5,000 miles around Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma promoting this festival. You would see her selling reservations, T-shirts and chances on drawings, etc. What a sales person!

Shirley is generous in purchasing and donating items for silent auctions, searching for items throughout the year. She provides food and a large quantity of beverages for District events, District Dance, Doin’s Dance and meals the District provides for Missouri Federation meetings.

Shirley serves faithfully as District Secretary. Her work is accurate and professional. Every year she organizes, prints and distributes the S.W. District directory, which is a very time-consuming project. She is a District delegate to Missouri Federation and active member of the Promotions committee.
