Mary Alice Miller
January 25, 1942 - February 5, 2022
Mary Alice Wheeler Pearson Miller of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away February 5, 2022 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 80 years and 11 days old. Mary was born in St. Clair County, Missouri, January 25, 1942, the daughter of Eugene Ray Wheeler & Myrtle Menelva Greathouse. Mary grew up on a farm near Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School. She attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg,
Missouri. Mary married Bobbie Lee Pearson of Hermitage,
Missouri, April 16, 1961. They moved to Kansas City,
Missouri where three children were born in this union: Bart Allen, John Matthew and Mary Melissa Pearson.
In 1985 her husband preceded her in death. Mary later married Eugene Miller on August 15, 1987 in Kansas City,
Missouri.
Mary worked at Western Electric, the Jone’s Store, Thrifty Nichol and GEHA. She also served as the editor for several square dance and clogging publications. Mary was an active member of the Silver Dollar Square Dance Club, several camping clubs, Red Hats, and Klogghoppers Clogging Group.
Mary enjoyed: square dancing, camping, clogging, sewing, embroidery, crafts, animals, gardening, travel, history and genealogy.
She is survived by husband, Eugene O. Miller of Oak Grove,
Missouri; brother, William Wheeler (Wanda) of Grain Valley,
Missouri; son, Matthew Pearson (Colleen) of Dublin, California; daughter, Missy Shinoski (William) of Grain Valley,
Missouri; two step sons: Lonnie Miller (Jan) of Lone Jack,
Missouri and Mark Miller (Kyleen) of Oak Grove,
Missouri; three grandchildren: Lauren Shinoski of Grain Valley,
Missouri; Carston Pearson and Kerrigan Pearson of Dublin,
California; four step-grandchildren: Lori Miller Shaf of Lee's Summit,
Missouri, Joe Miller of Kansas City North,
Missouri, Daniel Miller of Lee's Summit,
Missouri, Dalton Miller of Grain Valley,
Missouri; four step great grandchildren
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at:
Meyers Funeral Chapel
1600 West Main Street
Blue Springs,
Missouri 64015.
Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery.
