Last Square Standing

It’s not too early to get your thinking caps on and get your teams together for the Last Square Standing. Grab your bragging rights!

Rules:

1.

All participants must be registered for the festival

2.

No age requirements

3.

Each team (square) must have 8 people

4.

Teams may register between 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 and 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024. Register at the check-in table.

5.

Teams must report to the Arena/Exhibition Hall by 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

6.

Competition will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Process:

1.

Dancing level will be mainstream patter; difficulty will keep increasing

2.

Each team must be in constant movement

3.

Each team will have one judge

4.

If any Team’s judge finds the participants of the team to have broken down, the judge will then raise a yellow flag and give the team a count of ten (10) out loud to the beat of the music to allow the participant team to get back into place. If they can fix themselves and get back to dancing without forming lines, they can continue the competition. THIS WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY ONE TIME FOR EACH TEAM. If they cannot repair the square, the judge will let them know they are to leave the floor as their participation in the competition is over.

5.

Each team must resolve back with the same partners in the same spot they started. (e.g. #1 couple in #1 spot, etc.)

6.

Competition will continue until two teams remain. The team not yellow flagged will be the winner. If both teams have not been yellow flagged, then the first team yellow flagged gets second place.

7.

Winning team will receive dangles for their badges
